Sage Fusion

Sage Fusion is a neat indie game that‘s built from RPG combat, point and click interaction, and lined with some very good dialogue that’s fit for a visual novel. It’s a well-balanced concoction of things that are sure to offer you an enjoyable time.

In Sage Fusion, you’ll have the pleasure of going through multiple stories that have their own protagonists, events, and so on, which also intertwine at some point. The action is set in a universe where advanced AI is illegal, and the protagonists find themselves between religious and political interests.

From the story perspective and how it’s written, Sage Fusion is great. The dialogue tends to overshadow the action, but it’s well worth it because it’s used to shape the personalities of the unique characters and it also paces the story. Moreover, it sends out details about the word in which the action unfolds.

At first, it seems a bit strange to go from an RPG turn-based combat system to point and click gameplay without anything in between. And then you get some really long pieces of dialogue. However, it works, and in Sage Fusion it feels good.

Since this is a story-driven game, the combat and interaction are secondary of interest and importance, but they sure do make things a bit more lively. Combat has some interesting features to it and it’s not as one side as you might think.

As for the point and click bit, you’ll find it a lot better than in games that are strictly designed or that kind of gameplay. Although, I admit that in some cases, the character and environment blending could use a bit more work. It sometimes looks bad.

To wrap it up, Sage Fusion is one interesting assembly of game types. The list of good things to say about it is rather long, so it’s best you just play the game.
