Race across a variety of dangerous tracks using spheres and upgrade them with better parts as you manage to win competitions #Racing game #Ball race #Sphere racing #Coaster #Sphere #Racing
If there is a genre that has tried it all over the years, then it’s probably racing. The amount of crazy ideas put into practice that featured some kind of racing is staggering, not to mention the fact that it’s not always cars that are doing the actual racing. Hence, hearing about a game that features elemental spheres instead of vehicles should come as a surprise to no one, because it’s not even that original anyway, at least not entirely.
Rolling Coaster challenges you to a series of tournaments featuring elemental spheres rather than flashy cars, which should at least get you intrigued at the prospect. Not only that, but the tracks are quite extraordinary as well, because they are located either on what appear to be alien planets or in various unlikely spots, such as near the smoking top of an active volcano.
The spheres themselves are not just metal balls like in most other games of this type. Instead, they are each representative of a certain element, and they come with specific attributes that are somewhat characteristic of the said element. Hence, you can choose between Water, Fire, Earth and Wind, depending on what style you prefer out on the track and whether you value speed over maneuverability.
In case you decide to participate in a career mode and race for multiple rounds, the game provides you with the possibility to upgrade the spheres along the way, to avoid letting the experience become repetitive. Hence, you can add a variety of components to improve the performance of the balls, each one of which affects the speed, boost or maneuverability of the sphere in a certain way.
Graphics are vital as well in a genre such as this one, because the players need to experience a sense of speed while they cruise around the tracks. In this case, the game does a decent job when it comes to visual quality, although you shouldn’t expect too much in this regard. The same can be said about the sound effects, which are not bad, but you can ignore them completely as well.
All things considered, Rolling Coaster is at the very least an original idea you can have some fun with if you are bored of the classic racing flicks. Thus, the game has the potential to provide you with tons of fun, as well as good amounts of content to keep you busy for a while.
