Princess Nom Nom

I showed this game to a colleague and after a short glimpse at it, he said “Foolproof”. And indeed it is, Princess Nom Nom is a foolproof game, and it’s not intended to be offensive. Call it a “technical term” because we all know there are those games that no matter what you have to do in them, you can’t stop.
The reason for that sometimes lies in the casualness of its approach, or the ridiculousness of it all. It can be the amusing concept, vivid graphics or upbeat audio that makes you click, and click, and click. Or maybe you just want to see how far it goes. Every little one of those is embedded into Princess Nom Nom. I mean look at that title, even that has a ‘cultural’ reference most teens can relate to.
The game is about a lazy avian queen who needs the aid of her minions so she can have a snack or two. But at the end of the game (is there such as thing?) you’ll see that that’s a tad too much for just a snack.
Her Highness starts off with a few minions but as you can expect, she can insta-hatch new ones to keep the supply going and growing. As more chiclets appear, the more food they bring and the more her royal gut eats (capitalism 101). But it doesn’t stop there. The large one (in status) is industrious, and she will expand by purchasing new and bountiful lands that provide additional ‘snacks’. Not eating problems or self-control depicted here.
One thing you notice is that even though she devours tons upon tons of tons of food, her highness’s physique doesn't seem to suffer at all. Good genes, good metabolism.
As far as the gameplay goes, Princess Nom Nom is all about clicking some buttons from time to time and as you progress, the clicking intensifies. You get to gradually upgrade the number of minions that can gather food from one spot, the speed at which they move and how much they carry. It’s all very simple, and it even looks cute.
In the end, it’s all I can say. Play it. It’s a silly game, but it’s such a good brain relaxant that you can’t stay away from it. It’s really silly.
