Plasma Spheres Demo
Avoid the other spheres and use deadly plasma to fight the enemies in this arcade platformer #Maze game #Arcade platformer #Sphere shooter #Plasma #Sphere #Arcade
Arcade games enjoy the luxury of not having to worry about realism at all, because their main concern is to provide the players with a fun experience. Hence, whether the physics engine feels realistic or the graphics look convincing enough is not of great importance, as long as the gameplay helps you relax and enjoy yourself for a while.
Plasma Spheres is an arcade platformer in which you have to navigate mazes, collect the required items, and try to survive the encounter with a variety of enemy spheres. Not only that, but you can also use multiple types of plasma attacks to deal with foes and damage them in order to break free from their pursuit. In short, you have to keep an eye on a lot of things at once.
The game is played from a third-person perspective and you can use the usual keyboard controls to steer the sphere around, as well as jump and slow down when you need to. There are a few annoyances with the camera, because it doesn’t always manage to remain focused on the main sphere, but you can get used to it after a while. The targeting system is not very accurate either, which means that you’ll miss a lot of your shots.
As previously mentioned, the levels are designed like mazes and you need to calculate the route most of the time, in order to make sure that you manage to both get to the end, and collect enough points to unlock the exit portal. Speaking of which, there are also various special items you can pick up along the way, such as grenades or mines that can come in handy when you have to deal with aggressive enemies.
As far as the technical part of the game is concerned, the visual quality is not exactly top-notch, but it gets the point across. The physics engine is a bit more refined, however, because the spheres are affected by inertia in a pretty realistic way, and it makes the gameplay a lot more fun and intuitive. It’s not all good, however, given the fact that on some occasions the spheres can perform a variety of impossible feats.
Although Plasma Spheres does not manage to revolutionize much of anything, the gameplay mechanics are addictive, and you can really find yourself putting a lot of time and effort into the levels. However, its flaws can be annoying as well, or at least perturbate the gameplay every once in a while.
