Few things are more dramatic than being in high school, or at least that’s what high school students feel like. There are many problems waiting for them in terms of getting their life together, getting along with other people, as well as finding romantic partners to start their love life. Hence, it’s no wonder that there are so many movies and video games on the subject.

Passion High is an interactive visual novel that allows you to experience a bit of this drama by playing the role of a high school student by the name of Teru Ikuta. The game features neat artwork and quite a few different routes, which means that you can go through the adventure multiple times and experience different outcomes, which is always cool to have in a visual novel.

Teru is a pretty regular high school student, although he seems to have more than his share of trouble and sorrow. Thus, you must guide him through a variety of interesting events, in some of which you get to influence his behavior. Not only that, but romance is an important part of the game as well, which means that you have to choose a partner for him from multiple available options.

Since romance is such an important part of the story, the characters have unique personalities, and sometimes it matters what you say and how you say it. Some girls prefer romantic gestures and grand displays of love, while others are more interested in other things. However, there’s a lot more to do than chasing girls, because Teru must also navigate a few serious problems along the way.

In terms of graphics, things could be better when it comes to the backgrounds, because some of the artwork is in very poor resolution. This makes the game look cheap and unrefined, but thankfully that is not always the case. In fact, the character artwork is very smooth and enjoyable, and you can tell that the artists have really given it their best shot in this regard.

Passion High is not the most complex story ever told, but it’s intriguing enough to keep you engaged all the way through. You can also pick a different route on your second playthrough, which greatly extends the game’s life.
