Pandemic 2 is a terrifying little game that has you creating and nurturing a small little virus or parasite into an unstoppable killing force that can wipe out human life on Earth. There is no hero in this game, only you, set to eliminate mankind.

Pandemic 2 is not at all hard to play. At the start of everything you get to choose whether you want to play in realistic or relaxed, the latter having fewer traits to work with, consequently being easier to master. After that, you have to choose which organism will be used as the weapon, a virus, bacteria or a parasite.

Each one has its own pace at which it spreads and evolves and it’s up to you to take advantage of the various factors that can help you. Some countries may become flooded so waterborne means of transmitting will be optimal, while other countries might face different natural disasters that can favor your disease.

As your disease expands more and more, you are awarded with evolution points which you can use to further strengthen it to the point where it because immune to cold, heat or even medicine. Apart from that, the points can be used to unlock new symptoms and to increase the lethality level.

Pandemic 2 is all about putting your Epidemiology knowledge to the test but not for a good cause. The goal of the game is to kill everyone in the digital world by using the best means of transmitting the disease, combined with the most effective symptoms.

You can even think of Pandemic 2 as a strategy game. Find a way to spread the virus or parasite undetected all over the world, then have it mutate and grow as doctors remain unaware of its lethality. The game however has a good dose of difficulty in it and in a lot of the cases you will need luck on your side.

On a closing note, Pandemic 2 is an unusual and entertaining game, which makes it even more dubious to play. Nonetheless, it is an interesting way to see how dangerous diseases can be.
