If you're a fan of fantasy TV shows and movies that take place in areas where the forests are always green and everything looks epic, then you've most likely done your research and have found out that most of them are filmed in New Zealand. The problem is that if you're not a native to island, then getting there to feast your eyes on the wonderful surroundings can be quite troublesome. That is why a great walking sim such as New Zealand can be of great help, allowing you to bring a piece of New Zealand into your home, albeit in digital form.

Before even trying to download this game, you must first know that you'll need a PC that is quite beefy, especially as far as the video card is concerned, since running the game even in the lowest video settings can be quite demanding. However, if you do have such a machine, then you might as well have all the visuals cranked up to their maximum settings, because you  are in for a visual treat.

Because the game is nothing more than a walking sim where all you have to do is explore your surroundings, admiring the view and maybe taking the occasional screenshot, pretty much all of the game's focus is directed towards the visuals. Everything from the texturing, the lighting and the realistic liquid reflections look top-notch, and if it weren't for the occasionally erratic camera movements when stepping between higher and lower elevation areas, you'd swear you are actually there. The game world is pretty big as you will require around 20 minutes or so of game time to explore the entire map, and that is if you know all the nooks  and crannies you can go to.

New Zealand shouldn't be perceived as a game, but more as a visual experience where you can seek refuge every time you want to see the beauty of nature without the hassle of actually crossing the ocean to visit it.
