Mr. Twigs

Horror games are great for those of you that are looking for the occasional adrenaline rush without the part where you are actually in danger, and that is what makes the genre so popular. While some games rely on jump-scares or gore as a means to instill fear into your hearts, some games, like Slenderman and the likes, rely on the sense of dread you get when you know someone is out to get you. That is exactly the type of horror that Mr. Twigs relies on upon and despite the apparent simplicity, you will feel the occasional chill going down your spine.

The premise is quite simple; you have to activate 3 Altars scattered around the field and don't get caught by the good ol' Twigs. The gameplay is similar to that of Slenderman, where you walk around in a dark forest (here a foggy field of wheat), and you have to find the altars before Twigs gets you, and when that happens, its "Game Over".

The game seems procedurally generated, so don't bother trying to remember the position of the altars or fences, as it will always be different.  More so, the field of wheat is dense enough to conceal the occasional bear traps scattered here and there, and while they might not be fatal or harmful in any direct way, they do keep you in one place for a few seconds, which is more than enough for Mr. twigs to get the jump on you. Top it all with the eerie foggy atmosphere of the game, and you realize that even a wheat field in the middle of the day can be something terrifying.

Scarecrows scare the crows to protect the crops, and. Mr. Twigs is no exception, and the game's overall purpose is to show you what happens if you were doing bad to the crops by walking on them.
