Lost girl's [diary]

Creepy stories are only creepy if you tell them at the right time, because no one is going to be spooked if you are talking about the Hook Man while they are having their morning coffee. Power outages, bonfires and slumber parties are examples of good timing, although it also depends on your ability to tell a story that sounds both terrifying and somewhat true at the same time.
Lost girl's [diary] is a short visual novel in which you listen to all sorts of creepy stories told by a few girls and boys gathered in a hotel room. Unfortunately, the game is non-interactive, which means that all you can do is wait for the characters to say their lines and watch the story unfold. On the other hand, it’s a great way to relax and maybe shiver a bit at the mildly scary tales told by the characters.
It all starts with a group of girls that gather in a secluded hotel room to have a quiet night of fortune telling. Unfortunately for them, their boyfriends come along as well, which turns the night into a scary story contest instead. There’s not much information on either of the characters, although can probably get an idea about each individual’s personality based on the things they say.
Given the fact that all you do is look at pictures and read the text that pops on the screen, you would expect the writing to be good. Unfortunately, it’s pretty faded in this case, since there’s nothing memorable about any of the stories. The whole thing is too short to make any sort of sense anyway, so you shouldn’t go in with any kind of expectations.
The artwork is pretty decent, on the other hand, except for the fact that there are only a handful of backgrounds. It gets repetitive and annoying to look at the same image for a long time, although you should theoretically be too invested in the story to notice. This is not the case here, which is why the artwork quickly gets on your nerves.
All things being equal, there are much better visual novels out there, but Lost girl's [diary] doesn’t try to top them anyway. Instead, this was meant as a short distraction for when you have nothing better to do.
