Kram Keep

Kram Keep is a neat little platformer that’s just perfect for a casual afternoon when you want to dust off the tediousness of the day. It’s a game that takes you on a small adventure through a large castle that is full of monsters, traps and someone to rescue.

For those who enjoy retro games, Kram Keep will be appealing thanks to its pixel graphics approach. The game was built for the ‘Entire Game on One Screen’ at Lundum Dare 31 and for this reason, it packs the entire game in one actual screen.

There’s a zoom function that you can use to either see the entire maze-le like castle or just the small area in which your character is located. Zooming in and out helps you to better navigate because it’s easy to tell where you’ve been and where you need to go. On a downside, it kind of tells you just how big the actual game is, which is not a lot.

Despite its harmless look and short lifespan, Kram Keep is a platformer with all the trimmings. Your character has to explore the castle by jumping from one platform to another, he’s got a nice dagger attack to use and if he dies, well, he can restart at the last enable checkpoint.

Monsters aren’t all that tough to beat as they will go down after two or three successful attacks but their positioning makes it tough to get a good shot without losing a life or two. Kram Keep really keeps you on your feet and challenges you to do your best.

To wrap it up, Kram Keep is exactly what you need when you have a few minutes to spare and want to play something worthy of that free time. It looks nice, it’s a bit tough and all around fun to play.
