Insanity Clicker

Clicker games are not meant to change your life or make you give up everything else you might be playing, and it’s quite obvious from the first few minutes of gameplay. In fact, many of them are designed to run without your input and even without having to execute the game. Thus, it’s all about those big numbers you get to see after a while, as well as the in-app purchases you might be tempted to make.

Insanity Clicker is a simple concept that doesn’t seem to bring anything original to the genre, even if it’s not that difficult to include a few new mechanics. Hence, your job is to click on monsters and watch their hit points drop, although even that is automated after a few minutes of gameplay. The only intriguing element is the fact that you are technically battling monsters in creepy places, so you should be scared, theoretically.

On the other hand, the monsters are just sprites you have to click on, so it’s pretty difficult to feel anything but boredom after you get the chance to see the majority of them. Each kill provides you with a certain amount of in-game currency, which can then be used to purchase minions. Obviously, minions are responsible for extra damage, which makes it easier to just let the game run in the background.

Although almost every clicker game gets repetitive after a point, Insanity Clicker fails to be engaging even for five minutes, mainly because there’s no real incentive to keep playing. Everything is exactly the same in terms of gameplay, because you either click on the monster yourself or you watch the game play itself, which is neither fun nor amusing.

On top of it all, the graphics are pretty poorly designed as well, in the sense that there’s no real horror atmosphere and nothing to catch your eye. Some of the monsters look fairly interesting, but there are thousands of copies along the way, and the same goes for the backgrounds. The good news is that the game should run on almost any kind of PC.

In the end, Insanity Clicker is quite disappointing, even for a clicker game. Hence, unless you want yet another game to teach you how to count to one decillion, there’s nothing even remotely fun about the game at hand.
