Insane Monster Truck Racing

Some people love racing games, other people love monster trucks, but when you take these two passions and put them into one single game, you get something like Insane Monster Truck Racing. This lightweight racing game might not have the AAA graphics of today's racing games, but considering the system requirements and disk space it occupies, it's rather impressive.

The game is pretty simple in how it presents itself. You have a wide variety of tracks and monster trucks to choose from, although it should be mentioned that they are all locked and can only be opened through gameplay. Thus, racetracks can only be unlocked by completing the previous tracks on 1st place, while new trucks can only be opened by finishing  1st place with the previous model, regardless of the road. Another thing that will keep you going is the game's built-in achievements system, set to record all the exceptional feats you do while you play.

The game behaves exceptionally well, and with a disk size of under 100 MB, you pretty much can't ask for anything more than what you already got. The game's OST is also worth mentioning since it is made up of high-paced music that befits a monster truck rally game, thus further enhancing the high-octane atmosphere. One thing worth mentioning as far as gameplay goes is that you should try to stick to the track as much as possible, since passing going around checkpoints instead of through them won't count, and you might end up asking yourself why are you last if you are the first to cross the finish line.

Insane Monster Truck Racing may not blow you away with high-quality textures, anisotropic filtering, or shadows,  but will greet you with its fair share of gratuitous fun.
