Household Heroes
Defend the house from hordes of monsters while avoiding obstacles like shoes and coffee tables in this VR shooter #Vr shooter #Action game #Virtual reality #Hero #Shooter #Action
Action games can take a variety of different forms, depending on what the developers have in mind. Hence, although it’s simple to copy someone else and reuse the same ideas over and over again, gamers are more likely to spend money on something original, even if the game in question is poorly optimized and the graphics are not in tune with current technology.
Household Heroes is an interesting shooter in which you play the role of a very small soldier, whose task is to defend the house from an invasion of miniature monsters. As of right now, the gameplay mechanics are not very well refined, and you may stumble into a lot of bugs and inconsistencies, but there’s definitely something here.
In essence, the gameplay is not very complicated, given the fact that all you have to do is run around and shoot everything that tries to kill you. However, the goal is to reach the portal at the end of the level and make it to the next stage. There are multiple levels to go through, and they gradually get more difficult as you manage to pass them, plus a boss fight at the end to spice things up.
The level design is by far the most exciting thing about the game, because you get to see the rooms from a very weird perspective. Hence, a mere shoe becomes a huge obstacle, not to mention things like couches, chairs and tables. This has obviously been done before, but it’s much more exciting to experience it using a virtual reality headset, which is the whole purpose of the game.
To make things even better, everything is rendered using the mighty Unreal Engine 4, which means that it should look pretty photorealistic in most circumstances. Obviously, you require a powerful graphics card to enjoy it, but it’s definitely worth the trouble. Still, at least you have the option to change the graphics settings and disable some of the post-processing effects to increase performance.
All things considered, Household Heroes is not exactly good, but it has the advantage of being something relatively new. Hence, if you are a fan of virtual reality and you want to put your headset to the test, this may very well be a nice game to do so with.
