GUILT
An indie horror game that's based on exploration and precise movements between points #Exploration horror #Pixel art horror #Survive forest #Horror #Platformer #Precision
GUILT is an atmospheric little game that comes to pull you into one woman’s journey through a dark and dangerous forest. There is no beginning to the story, anything that would help you understand who she is, or how she got there. You don’t even know what you have to do. All of which are good reasons to start exploring.
GUILT starts off as a seemingly relaxed game. The atmosphere is gloomy, but there doesn’t seem to be much going around. That feeling stays with you for a couple of minutes until you face your first stealth scenario.
You won’t just be casually strolling around the forest, no. There are plenty of caves and things to climb up and down of and in most of those cases, you will be stalked by some strange, red-eyed blobs of pure evil. Don’t underestimate them, one hit and you’re dead. All it takes is a simple mistake, and if you get spotted, they'll chase you down until you either escape or die. The first option is not that handy.
The main mechanic to GUILT is stealth and keeping it. In a lot of cases, there will be more than one evil blob on the lookout for you, and it’s of the essence that they don’t spot you. Moreover, they will patrol the area, quickly traveling from one point to another in a second or two. What you have to do is map out and remember their movement patterns.
Once you have those figured out, you need to move fast and with precision. Like it was mentioned before, one simple mistake, and you’re dead.
GUILT is too short for how well it progresses toward the end. It really gets interesting and it;s a bit of a let down for it to end so abruptly and with so little of the plot unveiled. On the plus side, maybe there’s a sequel coming. That would be nice because there are so many paths this story can take, and there’s definitely room for more.
What's new in GUILT 1.0.1:
- Version 1.0.1 fixes a few bugs:
- When turning, pressing jump will now properly make you jump at the end of the turn animation.
- The "chase" music should now stop properly when you’re not being chased.
- The main character should no longer teleport in a crazy way when a gate is closing on her.
