Full Moon Rising
Go on a quest to find a rare stone and deal with the consequences in this funny platformer #Arcade platformer #Adventure game #2d platformer #Platformer #Werewolf #Adventure
The myth of the werewolf is probably one of the oldest and most popular myths in the world, since every culture seems to have something related to humans that turn into wolves or various other animals. However, Hollywood popularized the idea of super-strength and insatiable hunger for human flesh, which is why every mention of werewolves now creates a pretty gruesome image in the public’s mind.
Full Moon Rising is a 2D platformer in which you play the role of a man who’s about to get lucky with a lady he admires very much. However, she decides that he must run a very important errand for her first, one that doesn’t seem like that much work at first. Naturally, it turns out to be much tougher and much more disturbing that the young man thought.
In short, the game is a classic jump & run for the first half, which means that you have to avoid enemies, gaps and all sorts of other traps while running toward the next level. Once you manage to find the stone you are looking for, on the other hand, the man turns into a werewolf, which allows him to attack enemies as he returns to his beloved.
Probably the most annoying thing about the game is the fact that it can be too easy sometimes, especially in the beginning when you can just run and avoid everything along the way. Obviously, it gets trickier to do so later on, but you can still get away with running sometimes. The only somewhat challenging part is the boss fight, and that’s only until you learn the patterns and avoid his simple attacks.
As for the graphics, the retro style works great in this case, especially since the artwork is quite nice and detailed. Unfortunately, the level design can get a tad repetitive after a while, even if there are two zones you must traverse over the course of the game. The soundtrack is fine, on the other hand, and so are the humorous sound effects that complete the atmosphere.
In the end, Full Moon Rising is funny enough to have you laughing the entire way, but it’s also a bit too easy to provide serious gamers with a challenge. Hence, if you want something relaxing and funny, this can certainly entertain you for a few minutes.
