Freedom
Use a variety of guns to spread some freedom and kill as many enemies as possible in this runner game. #Runner game #Rail shooter #Arcade shooter #Runner #Run #Shooter
Freedom and democracy are not necessarily new concepts, since people in ancient Greece used to run a system very close to what we have today. Granted, their ways and ideals were different, but then again we do not have a perfect system either, in spite of our tremendous evolution over the last couple of centuries. In fact, wars are just as common today as they were back then.
Freedom is a humorous game in which you have to shoot your way through all sorts of enemies in order to survive for as long as possible. In essence, the game is an endless runner with no end in sight, but it’s pretty difficult to stay alive for more than a few minutes, at least in the beginning. Thankfully, at least the experience is quite fun and engaging, especially if you do not mind dying often.
You play the role of a soldier in charge of bringing freedom to some nondescript country, using a generous arsenal of weapons to do so. Thus, your character is constantly running, and you must shoot the enemies ahead in order to avoid smashing into them and having to restart the game. Thanks to the minimal ragdoll physics, pieces of the enemy remain behind as well, and they can trip your character if you do not jump in time.
Each kill you make provides you with one Freedom, which is the in-game currency. This currency can be used to purchase better weapons and additional skins for your character. However, it must be mentioned that the weapons are very expensive, even the first ones, because they require you to kill hundreds of enemies in order to be acquired. The game is too repetitive and lacking in content to be worth that much playtime at this moment, so maybe it would be a good idea for the prices to drop a little bit.
As for the graphics, you shouldn’t expect anything too great either, especially not when it comes to animations and the background artwork. The game doesn’t look bad, but it’s not the kind of visual experience you’ll remember for years to come. Thankfully, the gameplay is challenging enough to distract you from everything else, which is a good thing.
All things considered, Freedom is a pretty fun game, but it needs some tweaks to be worth more than a few minutes of your time. Hence, more variety and a cheaper store would be appreciated, plus some updated graphics and sound effects.
