Humans are hardwired to be afraid of the dark because we simply can’t know what dangers it conceals. Now, imagine being trapped in a hostile place with no way to see what is going on around you, limited movement options and very little air.

This is what you will be facing in CAPSULE, a relatively short survival game that is played entirely through the means of a radar interface. The graphics are, naturally, very basic, but the soundtrack is quite impressive.

As you begin the game, you are presented with only a simple radar interface that displays your capsule in the center and various objects that are around you. For navigation, you have a compass and an indicator that shows the distance to your next objective.

You need to keep a close eye on your power supply and oxygen reserves, which can be depleted fairly quickly. Resources can be found everywhere around you, and you can send radar pulses to get more details about nearby objects.

The information you get from your radar screen is fairly limited, and the dangers you come across on your travels are often very difficult to avoid. Factor in the limited oxygen supply, and you have a recipe for an anxiety-inducing game what will always keep you on your toes.

The sound effects are top notch, and it is advisable to use a quality pair of headphones to ensure you get the best experience. The atmosphere is fantastic, especially if you play the game late at night.

CAPSULE is certainly original, and the development team has done a great job of turning an interesting concept into a fun game. Granted, it might not be for everyone, but it will provide you with an enjoyable, albeit tense couple of hours as you discover exactly what happened.
