Falco Race
Make use of fast cars and win competitions in this arcade racing game sporting basic graphics #Racing game #Racing sim #Arcade racing #Racing #Race #Arcade
Driving fast is not an option for most drivers, because the road to and from work is rarely a racetrack. On the other hand, we have other means to satisfy our thirst for speed, such as actual tracks open to the public, or even video games. In fact, the latter have become increasingly more realistic and demanded, especially since computers are now advanced enough to run convincing simulations.
Falco Race is not a simulator, on the other hand, since it doesn’t feature any kind of realism when it comes to how the cars handle or how the speed and track conditions affect your tire grip. In fact, every little steering input causes a lot of oversteer in every car, as well as a lot of sliding, which in turn causes frustration in you as a driver. Thus, you need a lot of patience to be able to complete even one race.
There are multiple game modes to choose from as well, depending on whether you want a single race or engage in a longer tournament featuring multiple events. Each championship has simple rules and only a handful of tracks to master, so it’s not difficult to get adjusted to this. The handling is a whole different story, on the other hand, because it’s quite atrocious.
The most annoying factor is the constant oversteer in every car, regardless of how quickly or slowly you are going. A simple tap on a directional key sends your car into an aggressive drift, which is not what you want in a GT vehicle. In fact, these drifts are not even enjoyable if you like the concept, because it’s impossible to control them or use them to negotiate the corners.
Lastly, the graphics are very basic as well, but this is not a very big problem. The lack of challenging tracks is a problem, on the other hand, because the flat circuits with monotone turns get repetitive after only a few minutes. The sound effects are terrible as well, since they are a combination of RC and F1 sounds that make it difficult to imagine yourself actually driving a real car.
In the end, Falco Race fails to provide any joy to racing fans of any kind, regardless of whether you want a simulation or an arcade game to take the edge off. Thus, the annoying handling and lack of imagination make it difficult for anyone to enjoy the game.
