There are many famous Greek legends about gods, demigods and simple humans that changed the fate of the world. Whether it’s the incredible Hercules, Prometheus who brought fire to humans, or various other such characters, there’s always a good story to hear when the subject comes up. However, not all of them have a happy ending, unfortunately.

Endless Fables: The Minotaur's Curse Collector's Edition is a classic hidden object puzzle game in which your goal is to solve riddles, find interesting items, and generally follow the story by jumping from one scene to the next. Every now and again you’ll have to tackle a more serious puzzle as well, which involves a short mini-game you have to figure out in order to unlock the way further.

As far as the story is concerned, it all starts when someone claims that the legendary Minotaur did not actually die in the labyrinth his father put him in, or at least not completely. Thus, he could be resurrected with the right ritual, but that wouldn’t be good news at all for anyone. Only the successor of Ariadne can put an end to this resurrection attempt, and that happens to be you.

Given the fact that you explore a variety of locations and environments over the course of the story, it’s only natural that the level design keeps up with the mood as well. The puzzles get tougher along the way as well, at least if you keep the difficulty level above Casual and you refuse to skip over them. Even so, you shouldn’t expect anything too mind-boggling either, because most puzzles require a mixture of patience and pattern recognition.

As mentioned before, the game takes you to a variety of locations, and the level design is exquisite, especially from a visual point of view. Every scene is incredibly detailed, and even the cinematics are nicely animated and quite atmospheric, at least most of the time. The soundtrack is not the most memorable out there, but it certainly does its job in the background.

Endless Fables: The Minotaur's Curse Collector's Edition could have certainly used slightly more difficult puzzles, but you can still have a lot of fun with it even so. The story is pretty exciting, especially if you are a fan of the Greek mythology.
