Desert Claw Rising
Shoot your way through waves of enemies in the African desert and manage your ammunition to stay alive #First-person shooter #Survival game #Arcade shooter #Shooter #FPS #Action
Surviving a shootout is never a sure thing, regardless of how well equipped you are or experienced you are in the field. However, video games are much easier to deal with, because you can take chances you never would in real life. Bullets are not as scary in their virtual form, and they also do almost no lasting damage at all unless you take too many of them at once.
Desert Claw Rising is a first-person shooter in which you have to keep moving forward and shoot everything that tries to stop you. It’s a very basic formula and it doesn’t try to bring anything new to the table, so it gets repetitive and boring in a rush. The actual shooter is basic as well, especially since there’s no weapon feedback and nothing to really make you feel like it’s worth your time.
The action takes place somewhere in Africa, so the environment looks about as desolate as possible. Sand and brown rocks are all that you can see along the way, which gets annoying after the few minutes. Most of the enemies look the same as well, not to mention the fact that you have to shoot them a number of times to get the kill, and it doesn’t matter whether you aim for the head or the foot.
Although there’s no clear mission when it comes to the story, it’s obvious that you must follow the strict path ahead and shoot everything that stands in the way. The narrow corridors get repetitive after just a few minutes, so the game loses your attention very quickly. On the other hand, you can at least practice your aim, although it’s tough to learn anything when your bullets do very little damage.
As for the graphics, don’t expect anything out of the ordinary, but the environments do look pretty interesting. The added post-processing effects are not bad either, depending on whether you PC can sustain them. Not much can be said about the sound either, but then again this is not a very important part, at least not in this case.
In the end, the shiny graphics are the best thing about Desert Claw Rising, because everything else is severely disappointing. Hence, unless you enjoy shooting random enemies and exploring repetitive environments, there are much better games out there.
