Dead Cell Virus Early Access
Survive in a post-apocalyptic wasteland and make sure to keep the undead forces at bay in this first-person shooter #Survival game #Zombie game #Zombie survival #Survival #Survive #Explore
Most modern survival games feature zombies as the main culprit for the end of days, because it’s a lot more fun than anything real, such as an asteroid impact or gamma ray burst. Hence, people get to break all the rules without repercussions, and the great thing is that even murder is ok, because zombies rank beneath wild animals on the list of things you can kill in video games and not feel guilty about.
Dead Cell Virus is a first-person survival game with voxel graphics and simple gameplay mechanics, in which your only purpose is to survive and explore the wasteland in order to find supplies. The great thing about it is that you can also team up with a few friends and cooperate in order to tackle the dangers of the post-apocalyptic world together.
The game looks a lot like Minecraft in the first few minutes of games, especially since you also have the possibility to craft things. Granted, this part is not yet advanced enough to form a proper opinion, but it would appear that crafting is going to be an important part of the experience by the time the game is complete. It’s obviously a good idea, but there are many things that can go wrong with a system as complicated as crafting.
Your main enemies are the zombies that roam freely around the game world, but they are pretty slow and dumb, so it’s easy to avoid them if you are not in the mood for a fight. However, much larger hordes are probably waiting for you later on, and they are going to be much tougher to avoid. Thankfully, at least you have a collection of weapons at your disposal, although they are totally useless if you don’t find ammunition for them.
The graphics are nothing to write home about, especially since they copy Minecraft when it comes to textures and general look. On the other hand, it’s easy to create interesting landscapes like that, it’s just not the case here. Moreover, the view distance is too tiny and annoying sometimes, which is not that pleasant in an open world game.
In the end, Dead Cell Virus might just evolve into something a lot better in the future, but it is up to the developers to do something original with their ideas. Otherwise, this won’t amount to anything but a failed Minecraft clone.
