Sandbox games have tremendous potential nowadays, especially since we now have access to virtual reality technology and voxels. However, it’s difficult to create something enormous to keep the players busy for hundreds of hours, because sooner or later they’ll get bored or annoyed. Thus, the best solution is to keep adding content and changing things on a regular basis.

Creativerse is a Minecraft-like sandbox game in which you get to explore a world made entirely out of blocks and shape it as you see fit. Unlike in Minecraft, on the other hand, your character does not have to use pickaxes or shovels to collect resources, since he has a robotic hand that quickly extracts the desired materials. Other than that, most of the gameplay is more or less the same, depending on how much Minecraft you’ve played.

To begin with, the game requires you to be connected to the Internet in order play, which means that you can join forces with other players in order to tackle more difficult tasks. Speaking of which, crafting is a major gameplay component, but you need to find schematics by exploring caves and dungeons. Unfortunately, these caves are full of hostile creatures that need to be killed before you can advance.

Being able to build things is a vital component in a game such as this one, but there’s no need to fret because Creativerse does it right. Hence, you can build and customize almost everything you want, given the fact that there’s a huge list of craftable objects at your disposal. Thus, you are free to erect any kind of building and use the desired colors, which is a lot easier than it is in Mojang’s bestseller.   Speaking of which, there is one more thing that shines in the case of Creativerse: The graphics. Everything looks a lot more modern than in most block-building games out there, even if this one features cubes as well. However, at least you get to enjoy fancy post-processing effects and smooth textures, which does wonders for the atmosphere as well.

All things considered, Creativerse is a great alternative for those that are tired of Minecraft and want something new, not to mention the fact that it looks a lot better as well. It should also be mentioned that Creativerse is free-to-play, although there is a Pro DLC you can purchase that provides you with extra inventory slots, the ability to create more than one world per account, as well as a glider that can be used to fly across the map.
