Bounce Bounce, The Couch! Early Access

Although sometimes it seems like you are the last sane person left on Earth, that would be pretty wild if it were true, mainly because you’d have to put up with everyone else by yourself. Hence, it’s more of a thought exercise than anything else, and not even that sometimes. On the other hand, you cannot help but wonder what the world would look like.

Bounce Bounce, The Couch! is a short arcade game in which your purpose is simple: catch falling people using your couch. Things are a tad more complex than that when it comes to gameplay, but you can still learn how to play it in a matter of seconds. Hence, it’s a short distraction for when you need to make yourself feel better and smile a bit.

Thus, the gameplay is all about using a couch in order to catch people as they are throwing themselves off buildings. As you might have guessed, some sort of craziness has them under control, which is why everyone except Pete and Joe seems to have given up on life for some reason. The game is pretty suggestive as well, so it’s certainly not for everyone.

Every now and again the game drops a power-up as well, which can be used to improve your chances. Some of them provide you with a speed boost, while others make your couch a tad bigger. Speaking of which, it’s better to avoid the slightly larger people coming toward the ground, because they incapacitate you for a few seconds and cannot be bounced back anyway.

It’s also worth noting that your actual job is to save the people by sending them into orbit, which is achieved by pressing the Space key right as they land. This is actually the whole purpose of the game, because a simple cushion bounce only sends them in a different part of the screen. At the end of each game you are presented with your high score, and you can improve it in a variety of ways by learning how to move quicker and take advantage of the controls.

Even if it can be a tad morbid in some cases, Bounce Bounce, The Couch! is still pretty fun to try, although it gets repetitive and boring after a few minutes. There’s no reason not to take advantage of those few minutes, on the other hand.
