Blood Bath
Kill as many enemies as you can in this simple top-down shooter with team-based mechanics #Top-down shooter #Action game #Arena shooter #Shooter #Action #Top-down
Shooters usually follow the same basic ideas, even if the gameplay mechanics are dressed up or improved to appeal to modern audiences. Hence, Battlefield may be a lot more complex than Half-Life was, but the game modes are not so different, and the underlying concepts have remained largely unchanged. The ultimate goal is to kill as many enemies as possible, regardless of what other objectives you have to tackle.
Blood Bath is a top-down shooter with simple mechanics and a lot of mistakes when it comes to the gameplay, not to mention the terrible graphics and awful controls. The goal is to help your team win the match by capturing enemy bases and scoring as many kills as possible, but that sounds more interesting in theory than it actually is.
To begin with, the first annoyance is the fact that your character moves incredibly slowly, which is not a great thing in shooters. It takes forever to get somewhere, and even the aiming system is painfully slow. Since you cannot dodge the enemy fire in time, you are bound to die every now and again just because the movement is too lazy to keep up with your input.
Since there is one map to play on, everything gets boring in a rush, especially the action. The AI is not very smart, and the objectives you have to complete are both repetitive and annoying. Capturing bases resumes to killing everyone and standing in a specific point, so that part is far less exciting than it should be. Even if tanks make an appearance sometimes, they do not really add anything to the experience.
Lastly, the poor graphics quality extends the list of negative aspects, although they are not as annoying as the gameplay mechanics. The top-down perspective is not a bad choice, but it is badly implemented, since you can see a very limited portion of the map. However, the enemies shoot at you from very far away, which makes things very unfair for you.
All things considered, Blood Bath is a bad game in almost every aspect, so there are very few reasons to give it a try. However, at least it can probably teach you a few things about patience and keeping calm under stressful conditions.
