Blobby Volley 2

Blobby Volley 2 is an arcade style casual game in which you get to play some beach volleyball, as a blob. The game features multiple modes, it can be played over a local network and you can even choose from several AI opponents.

Blobby Volley 2 is a game designed to be simple fun and testimony to that are the graphics and what the gameplay asks of you. The setup couldn’t be more casual, there are two colored blobs that can play volleyball and that’s what they have to do.

Each player controls his or her blob using just three keys and the goal of the game is to not let the ball fall to the ground on your side of the court. Blobby Volley 2 doesn’t come with excellent graphics, they’re decent at best, and the audio is just a whistle and a rather bad sound for when the ball is hit. That’s all there is to it.

Almost no one will use the online feature of this game and the LAN option is at most a long shot but same PC play can be enjoyable. Given the basic nature of the game, it can offer a bit of fun if you’re into the arcade games from a few years back.

Probably the most interesting thing about this game is the AI, which comes with multiple personalities. Depending on the one you opt for, the computer controlled blob might move around desperately trying to hit the ball, or it can be a flawless player against which it’s impossible to score. As far as a challenge goes, Blobby Volley 2 can offer one.

Blobby Volley 2 isn’t a terrible game. It just needs an update for the graphics, sounds and maybe make the blobs more fun to watch or play as. Or, maybe a new version of Blobby Volley needs to take shape.
