Splash your enemies with water instead of bullets in this third-person action game with a strong multiplayer component. #Action game #Multiplayer shooter #Adventure game #Action #Multiplayer #Shooter
Most shooters are designed to be as violent as possible, probably because that’s what players want nowadays. In fact, it’s been tradition since back in the day when Doom and Quake were released, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that modern shooters are like that as well. Naturally, this means that children are technically not allowed to play them, even if they usually end up better at them than the adults are.
Battle Splash is a third-person action game designed for multiplayer matches, with one major difference when it comes to gameplay mechanics: Players use water guns instead of real bullets. Thus, this is much more suited for young players, but the fun factor is still there, so you can have a lot of fun with the game even if you are more accustomed to the likes of Call of Duty or Battlefield.
The gameplay is designed to feel like Quake in many ways, especially since the action is so fast-paced and unpredictable. Speaking of which, you can choose from four different character classes, each one of which has different abilities and special weapons. They also come with unique items that diversify the experience, so you can keep playing for a long time before getting bored.
As mentioned before, your guns fire water instead of bullets, so there is no gore and no bloodshed involved in the action. That doesn’t mean there’s no excitement, on the other hand, since every round has the potential to be as enjoyable as you want it to be. You can even play with bots if you cannot find enough human players, which is great, considering the fact that the game is not very popular at the moment.
The graphics are not particularly great, but they are not ugly either. Every level is unique, and there are many to choose from, even if this alpha version does not contain all of them. It’s worth noting that the overall effects are fairly annoying sometimes, because it’s difficult to see your opponents, but these issues are bound to be fixed in later versions.
In the end, the fact that Battle Splash does not feature any violence is definitely a plus, but there’s a lot more to do in the gameplay department before everything works smoothly. Thus, it’s worth keeping an eye on the project as it keeps evolving in the future.
