Apocalypse Transportation
Drive supplies from one military checkpoint to the other in this fun arcade game with customization options #Transport supplies #Alien apocalypse #Arcade race #Apocalypse #Transport #Transportation
Regardless of whether the apocalypse is going to feature nuclear weapons, aliens, zombies, or any of the other popular movie themes, people are certainly going to have a bad time here on Earth. Besides the fact that large sections of the population are just going to disappear overnight, things are going to get a lot tougher when it comes to resources, because there won’t be anyone left to produce them.
Apocalypse Transportation is an arcade game in which aliens have brought the apocalypse on the humankind, and everything seems to be going poorly even after the military mobilizes itself to do something about the situation. The game itself is just a 2D flash flick with basic gameplay mechanics and a few nice ideas, so don’t expect greatness, although you can have a few hours of fun with it anyway.
To begin with, it is worth mentioning that the career mode is pretty lengthy, although that has nothing to do with content. In fact, it’s all about farming, as weird as that may sound for a game featuring pickup trucks and UFOs. Hence, there are multiple vehicles and a variety of upgrades to buy, but you need money to do so. To get money, you must transport goods between military warehouses and survive the harsh environments.
The annoying thing about the transportation bit is the fact that the map doesn’t change, so you have to redo the same routes over and over again, at least until you save enough money to buy better upgrades or another vehicle. Thankfully, these upgrades include tailgates, nitro, engines and shock absorbers, all of which help you carry more stuff without dropping it along the way.
Enemies are part of the equation as well, because they appear from time to time and do their best to smash into your car, causing you damage. To defend against them, you have the option to mount a gun on top of the vehicle and even protect yourself with armor, which should give you a fighting chance. On the other hand, it is a bit boring that the gun is fired automatically, so you only get to buy it.
All things being equal, Apocalypse Transportation could have done a much better job at providing the players with more environments and the possibility to interact more with the vehicle. However, the end result is something that although feels fun for the first five minutes, it quickly gets repetitive and annoying.
