Anti-Gravity
Save your ship from destruction and solve a variety of puzzles in this first-person adventure game #Puzzle game #Adventure game #Solve puzzle #Adventure #Puzzle #Gravity
Few things are as unforgiving as the laws of physics, mainly because they never fail. You can always be certain that gravity is going to work when you get up in the morning, regardless of anything else, except maybe for a cosmic event that affects our planet. However, we have come to understand and even take advantage of some of these laws in order to make our lives easier.
Anti-Gravity is a puzzle game in which you play the role of a worker trying to repair and save his spaceship from being destroyed. You play from a first-person perspective, which means that object interaction is quite personal and intuitive. On the other hand, the mechanics are not very well refined, which means that you’ll stumble upon many bugs and inconveniences.
The actual puzzles are not very complex either, but the game doesn’t provide you with too many hints on what you should be doing. This could lead to a lot of confusion and frustration, which is not exactly worth the bother if everything else is so basic. Hence, since most of your time is spent moving objects around and reversing gravity, the game gets repetitive in a rush.
Although you cannot jump in the game, you can overcome obstacles by simply reversing the gravity. While it may be a tad confusing at first, moving during the reversal phase is quite easy to achieve after you get familiar with the controls and the mechanics. You’ll also have to interact with a drone while you are trying to fix the ship, a drone that might not have your best interests at heart.
As for the technical part of the game, you shouldn’t go in expecting beautiful graphics and exquisite level design, because that’s not part of the deal. In fact, the graphics are pretty disappointing, but not as disappointing as the physics engine and the fact that the objects you pick up have the unique ability to clip through everything, regardless of material.
Although Anti-Gravity deserves some points for being inspired by Tool’s Lateralus, it suffers from subpar production values. Hence, it’s just not refined enough for this day and age, especially not when we have other great games to choose from.
