Age of Cavemen
Build armies and expand your settlement in this strategy game featuring Stone Age units #Strategy game #Online strategy #Multiplayer strategy #Strategy #Stone age #Battle
Back in the Stone Age, people lived in small tribes that depended on hunters and gatherers to survive, which is why that model didn’t last for too long. Bigger tribes would have trouble in similar circumstances, but the human mind managed to find a solution to the problem: agriculture. On top of that, tribes also started to settle for good and give up the nomadic life, which allowed them to foster larger communities.
Age of Cavemen is a free-to-play strategy game in which you have to build a strong village and use the resources it generates to attack other tribes, as well as expand and maybe even create an empire for yourself. The gameplay is quite repetitive and boring most of the time, given the fact that you have to wait around for stuff to finish building, but there are some exciting parts as well.
To begin with, your village needs some basic facilities to produce and store resources, such as food or stone. Once you have a steady income of resources, you can start thinking about raising an army, which is the actual purpose of the game. Buildings can also be upgraded to produce more resources/units, but each upgrade is more costly and takes longer to complete unless you spend meteorites to speed up the process.
The units you create can be used to raid other villages in order to gain extra resources and territory. Naturally, while there is a campaign in place to provide you with certain AI villages you can conquer, it’s also possible to attack other players. They can also attack you, on the other hand, so it’s imperative that you invest some resources in defensive structures as well.
As far as the graphics are concerned, the game certainly looks nice, but don’t expect anything too grand either. Everything is colorful and playful, so there’s no gritty realism to worry about. On the other hand, it must be mentioned that the interface is not designed for computer users, especially since you have to use tap & drag motions to move around the map.
All things considered, Age of Cavemen requires a lot of patience if you are not willing to pay actual money for it, because buildings and units take a lot of time to finish. However, if that’s not a problem, you can enjoy yourself for quite a while.
