Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight +3 Trainer

Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight is an action platformer and the fourth title in the Momodora series. It brings a new world and a few new ideas to the table, but the underlying mechanics should be familiar to the fans of the series. Hence, it's all about jumping, defeating enemies and exploring a colorful world full of interesting things to admire.

This episode focuses more on various kinds of monsters and mutants, so your job is a lot harder than usual. In case you are not familiar with Momodora, the gameplay is a combination of Metroid and Castlevania, a so-called Metroidvania hybrid. Thus, the emphasis is on action and exploration, not to mention the retro graphics and the snappy controls.

As for the difficulty level, it's certainly up there, but it's quite manageable if you have a bit of experience with platformers. Killing things is not difficult per se, but staying alive while hordes of enemies try to stop you, while also jumping over obstacles and traps is no easy task. On the other hand, this is exactly what old-school gamers should be expecting in this case.

Although the story is fairly interesting and engaging, it doesn't make too much of an impression on the players. It's not bad, but it lacks the required complexity to create memories. Even so, there are quite a few nice characters you can meet or fight along the way, so the game is not a total letdown in this regard.

Passing the levels might prove to be a tad more difficult than you expect, on the other hand, especially if you are a beginner. This trainer allows you to make things easier with the help of infinite health or as much money as you want. It's not fair, but it's better to cheat a little bit than to give up entirely any maybe miss out on a great experience.
