Fairy Bloom Freesia is an arcade shoot 'em up that allows you to play with anime girls and use their special abilities to take down a variety of monsters. To make things even more interesting, every now and again there's a boss battle that really puts your skills to the test, especially in terms of coordination and reflexes. On the other hand, this is obviously designed to be more fun than difficult.

In short, the story revolves around a young girl by the name of Freesia, who finds herself in charge of keeping a mighty forest safe from evil invaders. She gets to upgrade her powers along the way and deal with more aggressive invaders, which is translated into new combos as far as the gameplay mechanics are concerned.

The whole thing takes place in colorful 2.5D environments, so do not expect anything too miraculous when it comes to graphics. Thankfully, at least the controls are very snappy and responsive, which is exactly what you need when lightning-fast combos are required to put down enemies. You can make use of a controller to get a better grip on the situation.

However, the difficulty level can still be too high if you are not a fan of the genre, or if you do not have the patience to deal with the fast action.
