Space shooters are a special breed of video games, because they are certainly not everyone's cup of tea. Captain Forever Remix is an interesting take on the subject, on the other hand, because it is designed to be a combination of shoot 'em up mechanics and roguelike elements. Not only that, but you also get the chance to build your own spaceship using leftover parts from the enemies you destroy.

You start off with a pretty weak ship, but with enough skill and patience you can use it to take down much more powerful ships throughout the solar system. Naturally, you can then start to pick up the parts that survived the wreckage in order to make your own craft better. Hence, you should end up with a fairly impressive ship by the time you reach the end of the adventure.

As far as the actual gameplay mechanics are concerned, it certainly takes a while to get used to the fast pace of the game, but the action is very satisfying. Hence, you really have to keep moving in order to avoid enemy fire, not to mention the fact that most of them have special attacks that require you to learn their patterns and move accordingly whenever plasma bullet barrages come toward you.

In case that sounds too difficult, this trainer can get you out of the hot water and allow you to continue playing even if you lack the patience of the skill to make it through the toughest battles. Hence, you can get infinite health and take as many bullets as you wish in stride, although the game loses most of its appeal once the challenge is gone.
