The development team at Firaxis and publisher 2K Games are announcing that they are working with author Greg Keyes and with publisher Insight Editions in order to create an XCOM 2: Resurrection novel, which is designed to offer details about the events that lead up to the story of the title.

We already know that, basically, the gamer failed in the first rebooted title and that governments offered an unconditional surrender to the aliens.

The XCOM 2: Resurrection story will deliver more details on the way the big Advent cities were built and the trades that most people made to guarantee their safety.

The official announcement states, "the official prequel novel to XCOM 2 from author Greg Keyes, tells the story of Amar Tan, a promising recruit in the barely-hanging-on guerrilla resistance network that still dares to combat Advent outside of Gulf City."

It seems that the book will involve a lot of combat scenes, which include Sectoids, Chryssalids, and human troopers.

XCOM 2: Resurrection will be launched on November 10, 2015.

The actual video game has recently been delayed to February 5 of next year and will be only offered on the PC.

The development team has said that it will offer enhanced mechanics, better maps, more enemies to battle, a new strategic layer, and a range of new classes and customization options for gamers to try out.
