Who knows what other shortcuts might be hidden

The latest XCOM 2 arrived to rave reviews that praised the gameplay, but the performance on the PC lacks somewhat. Someone on Reddit figured out that at least one aspect of the game can be improved with a single button.

Some of you might have noticed that the loading screen at the end of the mission, when all the soldiers are sitting in the Skyranger returning to base, is a little bit on the long side. When all you want to do is to return to the base and promote your soldiers, you don't really want to wait around.

The game presents that scene as a loading stage like it's loading the next level, but the truth is that the game is already loaded. The game forces players to wait around in the cabin, although there is no real reason why they should do that.

It turns out that if you press the Caps Lock key when you reach that loading screen, the image will freeze for a couple of seconds, and people will be able to skip to the next scene. It's that easy.

The simplest explanation is that it's something that's left over from the development process, but if that is so, then it might be patched out or it might be implemented properly. Until that happens, you can safely use Caps Lock to improve the loading times.
