The Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 is now also supported on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 operating system as well.

When Microsoft released the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10, a lot of users wondered why they were trying so hard to make it work only for Windows 10 operating systems. The community wasn’t thrilled, and the initial reaction was quite negative.

The truth is that the Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter is not all that popular, so the impact wasn’t all that important, but it looks like someone at Microsoft pays attention to what the community is saying from time to time. They probably figured that no one will actually consider switching to Windows 10 just because it supports the Xbox Wireless Adapter, so they have enabled it for other versions of the OS as well.

“The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows is compatible with devices running Windows 10, Windows 8.1, or Windows 7. (A different wireless adapter, the Xbox 360 Adapter, is compatible with Windows 8.1, 8, and 7.) You can also use an Xbox One controller with Windows 7 or later by connecting it via a USB cable,” the entry on support.xbox.com now reads.

The Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter allows for the connection of up to eight controllers to it. It’s available on Amazon and a number of other stores.
