The development team at Platinum Games and publisher Activision are ready to offer the first official gameplay trailer for the upcoming Transformers: Devastation, designed to show a part of the mechanics that fans of the universe will be able to use in the coming battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons.

The footage shows that the combat will be centered around a new combo system that actively encourages players to mix the vehicle and the robot form of the characters in order to deliver the highest possible damage to enemies.

Activision states, "The trailer offers a quick look at some of the tricks that Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, and Wheeljack have up their sleeves, plus a little action from Megatron and Starscream."

Devastator, which was not featured before, is also a part of the footage.

Transformers: Devastation should be out before the end of the year, but the publisher has not yet confirmed a list of platforms for it.

Platinum Games has disappointed a lot of fans with its Legend of Korra video game adaptation, but most gamers already have a low opinion of the Transformers series and the new art style and combat systems might be what is needed to revive it.
