The development team at 11 bit Studios turned a lot of heads when it announced that it was working on a new version of the already classic This War of Mine, which will use the subtitle The Little Ones, which will introduce children to the world of the game, which is brutal and ravaged by war.

Now a first video developer diary from the studio explains how they have decided to create an extension of the game that includes kids and how they will be affected by the horrors of conflict in very different ways.

11 bit Studios states, "The Little Ones puts you in charge of a group of adults and children stuck in the middle of hell, trying to survive in a besieged city; struggling with lack of food, medicine and constant danger. The question is: how far will you go to make it through another day?"

This War of Mine focuses on the difficulties that war survivors have to deal with and the way they need to scavenge in order to get access to the limited resources available.

During daytime, players are able to craft necessities like beds and chairs but also more complex installations like a still.

During the night, characters can be sent out to explore and to get resources, exposing themselves to danger in order to survive for a few more days.

This War of Mine: The Little Ones will be launched on January 29 of 2016 on the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One.
