The long-awaited fighting crossover is still alive

Tekken Team boss Katsuhiro Harada confirms that his studio is close to completing the long-awaited Tekken X Street Fighter crossover game, but right now, publisher Bandai Namco still doesn't know when it's actually going to release the fighting experience.

For quite some time, fans of fighting games have dreamed of different crossovers between the major franchises. Back in 2012, Capcom and Bandai Namco teamed up to release Street Fighter X Tekken, a special experience that brought together characters from the two franchises, using Street Fighter IV's mechanics.

At the same time, Bandai Namco promised to release a Tekken X Street Fighter experience that would feature the same characters but mechanics from its Tekken series.

Since then, not much else has been heard about the title, leading some to speculate that it will never see the light of day. That's not true, according to Katsuhiro Harada, who mentions, via Siliconera, that the game is nearing completion. Many things are already done, such as the characters, models, moves, or systems.

Unfortunately, Bandai Namco is still thinking about the exact release timing, so it's unclear when it will eventually appear and on what exact platforms.

Expect to hear a confirmation at some point in time.
