The Paradox Development Studio is well known for its grand strategy titles, all of which are based on real-world historical events, and it seems that their next project will try to take the same mechanics and move them to a science fiction setting in space.

The new Stellaris title has briefly appeared on the Greenlight service from Steam, and gamers on Reddit have managed to get all the images that will probably be officially shared with the gaming world later today.

The look of the images that have leaked suggests that gamers will have a lot of options when it comes to building an empire and will be able to control both its strategic evolution and the tactical battles that will inevitable take place with rivals.

Stellaris is an ambitious idea, and Paradox will have to introduce some new mechanics in order to get long-term fans interested in a switch from history to speculation.

We will probably know more about the project before the end of Gamescom.

Paradox is best known for its work on Europa Universalis, which is at the moment up to its fourth core installment, and for Crusader Kings, the title that focuses more on the fates of families than on those of nations.
