Electronic Arts and Ghost Games have officially started accepting signups for the closed beta test phase for their upcoming Need for Speed racing game. Bear in mind that the trial will only be available on PS4 and Xbox One, and doesn't seem to be scheduled for PC.

Need for Speed is the long-awaited reboot of the racing series owned by Electronic Arts. The new title promises a return to the glory seen in installments like NFS Underground and looks to focus on nighttime racing, different play styles, and seamless multiplayer.

Lots of different details, videos, and screenshots have been shared so far but very little actual gameplay has seen the light of day.

Fortunately, it seems that fans on PS4 and Xbox One will be able to enjoy an upcoming closed beta test stage in the near future.

EA and Ghost Games have opened up the signup process on the official website. As such, fans should head on over and manifest their interest in trying out the racing experience.

Unfortunately for PC users, it seems that the two companies aren't going to bring the test phase to their platform, as the closed beta mentions only PS4 and Xbox One as eligible devices.

No date has been given, but seeing as how Need for Speed arrives on November 3, expect it to take place in late September or in October.
