Video game developer Obsidian and publisher Paradox Interactive announce that the Pillars of Eternity - The White March: Part I package is now out for all role-playing game lovers, and they are also offering a release trailer for the expansion.

Gamers who get it will be able to explore new locations in the unique world of the game, access more quests with cool designs and join more companions as they fulfill their own destinies.

Obsidian is also introducing new gameplay elements, including a higher level cap for all characters in Pillars of Eternity, multi-class abilities, and a new range of soulbound weapons.

The Artificial Intelligence of enemies and companions has also been improved in order to make the coming adventures more engaging.

The writers of the White March are Carrie Patel, who has written the Recoletta series and has worked on the original narrative, and Eric Fenstermaker, lead writer on Pillars of Eternity and one of the co-writers of South Park: The Stick of Truth.

Obsidian adds, "Players will venture into a new setting inspired by the snowy environments of Icewind Dale, and meet new companions including The Devil of Caroc, a construct rogue, and the scarred monk Zahua."

A second part for The White March will be launched in the coming months, although Obsidian has not yet mentioned an official date.
