Need for Speed, the upcoming reboot of the series from Ghost Games and Electronic Arts, is going to bring back one of the most iconic cars seen in past installments - the BMW M3 E46. As you can see in the screenshot above, the old "bimmer" is looking as awesome as ever.

There have been all sorts of different Need for Speed racing games over the years, but one of the most fondly remembered installments is 2005's Need for Speed Most Wanted. While it got a spiritual successor a few years ago from Criterion Games, many fans still disapproved of the lack of performance and visual tuning, not to mention the various choices made by the studio.

With the new Need for Speed, Ghost Games wants to bring back the emphasis on tuning and nighttime racing seen in Underground and its following installments.

Now, as a token of appreciation for Most Wanted, the studio confirms that the BMW M3 E46, the cover star of the old title, is making a comeback in the reboot. As you can see in the screenshot above, the car is looking great in the Frostbite 3 engine.

Those who pre-order it, according to the official website, can score early access to the car, as well as two other DLC packs.
