It seems that the development team working on the coming NBA 2K16 experience and publisher 2K Games are planning to introduce a new college-powered game mode in the basketball simulation, which will offer gamers the opportunity to play with some of the future stars of the league.

The information comes from the official Twitter account of Daren Rivell, who is a sports business reporter for the ESPN.

It seems that the college teams confirmed so far include: Arizona State, Arizona, UConn, Georgetown, Louisville, Michigan, Texas, UCLA, Villanova, Wisconsin, and Kansas.

More will probably be announced when 2K Games wants to make the new feature official.

Apparently, the company has negotiated the rights to use the likenesses of the teams and their players directly with the schools rather than working with the NCAA.

NBA 2K16 will be launched on September 29 on the PC, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and older home consoles.

Spike Lee, a known basketball fan, was recruited in order to direct the main MyCareer mode of the game, saying that he will seek to introduce more emotion to the sim.

The development team is also promising improved mechanics for all phases of the game and more realism when it comes to the interactions between the players.
