Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, the latest entry in the stealth series made by Kojima Productions and Konami, is currently plagued by a save game corruption bug on all platforms. Fortunately, a simple workaround and a bit of attention can avoid it until the publisher releases an update.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain launched last week across PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Millions of fans from all over the world flocked to try out the latest stealth game made by legendary designer Hideo Kojima, and the general consensus is that this is the best work yet from the developer.

Unfortunately, Konami now confirms that there's a pesky save game corruption issue currently plaguing the game across all platforms.

More specifically, the save data can get corrupted and unusable if players follow a certain path of action. If they use Quiet as the designated buddy during Missions 29 or Mission 42, their save game files become corrupted.

Konami mentions on its website that, until an update is released for the game across all of its platforms, players shouldn't use Quiet as a buddy during the two aforementioned missions.

As such, pay attention while progressing through the game and ensure that you switch buddies in certain situations. It's unclear when the patch to rectify the bug is going to be available for download.
