Video game developer BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts have revealed during E3 2015 that the next iteration in the Mass Effect series is called Andromeda, but the two companies are unwilling to talk about the core features of the coming title.

A new Twitter message from one of the leaders of the development team says that one of the major features of the most recent game milestone are weather effects, which will work on both objects and characters in the title.

The reveal trailer has shown both male and female characters for Mass Effect: Andromeda and a re-designed Mako that will be used to explore new planets and deal with threats.

BioWare says that all the main elements of the series will be improved upon, with a new cast of interesting characters to meet and interact with and a better combat system that still relies on cover and careful thinking.

Because the action takes place in an entirely new galaxy, the developers will have a chance to tweak the look of the game and to give gamers new ways to interact with the worlds they discover.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will probably be launched on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 at some point in 2016.
