The team inside BioWare working on the new Mass Effect: Andromeda is already planning which weapons will be included in the title, and a new video shows how they are using real guns in order to get the sound data they need to deliver an authentic portrayal in the action title.

The footage shows members of the studio on a shooting range and suggests, humorously, that they have also created an entirely working version of the M8 Avenger.

The video is probably a confirmation that the classic Mass Effect weapon will be part of the coming Andromeda experience, creating some continuity with the universe the gamers already know.

The development team has not yet talked about a launch date for the title, but it will probably be offered in 2016 on the PC, the Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4.

BioWare has explained that it has no plans to link the Andromeda installment with the Commander Shepard trilogy, but that other familiar elements, like the Mako vehicle, will be present.

The new title will take place in another galaxy and is designed to focus more on the exploration element of the franchise, with gamers encouraged to try and find secrets on various planets and to interact with new species.
