Developer Avalanche Studios and publisher Warner Bros. have to work hard to make the upcoming Mad Max video game deliver the same quality as the movie that arrived earlier in the year, and the two companies are raising player expectations with a new trailer that focuses on the strongholds gamers will be able to visit.

As the protagonist moves across the wasteland, he will be able to visit these locations in order to get more parts for his Magnum Opus vehicle, which also involves interactions with a wide variety of characters that are following their own interests.

Making strongholds friendly will be a good way to get access to more quests and extra rewards.

Mad Max is primarily a driving game, with gamers asked to take out enemies using the vehicle that they are building and a variety of weapons.

The main character can use both stealth and straight-up violence to deal with those who oppose him and much of the game will involve getting the resources that are required, from food and fuel to unique car parts, in order to take on the final boss, Scabrous Scrotus, son of Immortan Joe.

Mad Max will be out on the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One on September 1.
