Mad Max is a video game focused on vehicular combat, but the development team at Avalanche Studios, and publisher Warner Bros. are determined to show that the coming experience has other mechanics to offer.

A new trailer for the action game shows the various choices it offers when it comes to tackling objectives, allowing gamers to select how they want to deal with a problem and see the results of their actions.

Mad Max is not based on the story of the movie with the same name and does not even share many of the same characters.

Gamers will need to deal with the loss of the protagonist's car, who now needs to travel the wasteland in order to get his hands on the parts that will allow his sidekick to create a perfect vehicle called the Magnus Opus.

Most of the game will be spent moving across the desolate landscapes and entering into destruction derbies with enemy carts.

Mad Max will also have the option to fight on foot at certain moments, mostly to secure outposts that can give him resources or support.

Gamers will also have to deal with a powerful boss named Scabrous Scrotus.

Mad Max will be offered on September 1 on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and the PC, which means that it will be in direct competition with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
