Playing both FIFA 16 and Battle of the Bulge

This week, the star video game that has basically come to dominate my life is FIFA 16, the new football simulation from EA Sports, which launched earlier this the week and will probably be a long-term addiction all through the season.

As always, I am looking to make Liverpool one of the forces of European football, even if in the real world they are not performing as well as they should.

FIFA 16 is not a great leap in terms of mechanics, with the developers at EA Sports mostly tweaking established mechanics in order to improve the overall experience, but I love the way they have empowered midfielders and made them more important than attackers in many ways.

I have always been relatively underwhelmed by the Ultimate Team side of the game, but with the introduction of the new Draft experience, I might be tempted to give it a try in my free time, mainly because of the random elements and the challenge of creating an interesting team without selecting the best players at every turn.

I will also spend some time with the PC version of Battle of the Bulge, a game that is fascinating because it offers a very close look at one of the most interesting battles of World War II, with finely tuned mechanics that bring a lot of replay value.

More information about the game is provided in the full FIFA 16 review on Softpedia.
