Electronic Art's Origin Access new subscription initiative has just received a new game, and it's the famous Torchlight II.

EA announced a while back the Origin Access for PC subscription that would give users access to a list of games to be played for free. It's somewhat similar to the subscriptions used for consoles or to Netflix. Basically, you pay a fee, and you get full access to a bunch of titles that you can play, no strings attached.

It sounds like a great idea, but it needs two things: a powerful start lineup and new games being added all the time. Neither of these conditions has been met, and it looks like Electronic Arts is not doing a great job of promoting this new service.

If they want to turn it into a success, they need to make sure there are many more games than just the current 16 titles, and they have to make it a priority. We're not saying that Torchlight II is not a great game, on the contrary, but it's not enough.

The game available right now in Origin Access are the following:

• Dragon Age: Origins • Dragon Age 2 • Dragon Age: Inquisition • Sim City • Need for Speed Rivals • FIFA 15 • Battlefield 3 • Battlefield 4 • Battlefield Hardline • The Sims 3 • Dead Space • Dead Space 2 • Dead Space 3 • This War of Mine • Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare • Torchlight II
